Biography

I’m Abby Keeler, the photographer behind Sleepy Sloth Photography. I’ve always had a deep connection with animals and the natural world, and my passion is capturing the unique personalities, quirks, and stories that make every companion special.

From beloved dogs and cats to exotic pets, farm animals, and wildlife, I believe every creature has their own story worth preserving. My goal is to create timeless portraits that showcase not only how your pet looks, but who they are — the little expressions, habits, and moments that make them unforgettable.

 

Every animal has their own comfort level and personality, which is why I take a patient and personalized approach to every session. Whether your companion is energetic and playful, shy and cautious, or simply prefers to take things at their own pace, I focus on creating a relaxed environment where they can feel comfortable being themselves.

 

I completed the Professional Photography Program at the Vancouver Institute of Media Arts (VanArts), where I developed my skills in lighting, composition, and visual storytelling. Before starting Sleepy Sloth Photography, I also competed in the Skills Canada provincial photography competition three times during high school, earning silver medals in consecutive years. These experiences have helped me build a strong technical foundation while continuing to grow as a photographer.

 

Photography has always been more than just a career for me — it is a way to celebrate the bond between people and the animals they love. Through every session, my hope is to create meaningful artwork and memories that you can treasure for years to come.
